CLASSICALLY TRAINED HUSBAND AND WIFE DUO, SERVING AWARD WINNING FOOD FROM THEiR IDYLLIC COUNTRY PUB.
Situated in the picturesque village of Stock, Essex, The Hoop is run by Phil and Michelle. Both classically trained under top London chef Paul Gayler at The Lanesborough Hotel, (which is also where they met and their love story began!) They took over The Hoop in November 2006 and haven’t looked back.
Their attention to detail, work ethic and passion for cooking with locally sourced, top quality ingredients has seen them continuously awarded 1 AA Rosettes for the last 10 years. They have also featured year on year in the Good Food Guide, Alastair Sawdays and the AA Pub & Restaurant guides.
Phil’s style of traditional English with Italian and French influences enables the Pub to offer everything from the classic pie and mash to finely detailed award winning a’ la carte dinner menus. In addition to this Phil continues to expand and develop his knowledge with constant training and hosts regular chefs taster evenings in the pub’s upstairs Oakroom Restaurant.
